In Tomodachi Life: A Dream Life for Nintendo Switch, take the reins of an island where drama, love, silliness, and other surprises are the order of the day!

Create all kinds of Mii characters, whether based on your family, friends, and people you admire... or from your own imagination! You can customize them in a thousand ways by defining their appearance, various personality traits, or diverse quirks. You can even use facial features found only in this game!

By picking up and dropping Mii characters next to others, you will make them interact. You can witness them striking up unexpected friendships, getting into arguments, falling in (and out of) love against all odds, and much more!

You can expand and design the island however your heart desires. Adorn it with homes, shops, restaurants, and other establishments so that residents have more places to hang out. If you want them to feel super comfortable in their homes, decorate their rooms with different interior sets or with furniture, wallpaper, and flooring that fits their vibe.

These are the Mii characters!

After taking the reins of the island, it will be up to you to create Mii characters to populate the place, and also to take care of them. They can be based on your family, friends, people you admire... or they can be from your own imagination!

When creating them, you can choose to answer a series of questions or do it from scratch, selecting different facial elements and hairstyle options. Once you have defined their appearance, adjust their height and build, choose their gender and preferences such as romantic interest, give them a custom voice, and set the basic aspects of their personality.

Additionally, you can customize them in many ways, for example, with makeup and facial elements you will only find in this game. You know: let your creativity run wild!

Care and dedication

Try to take good care of your Mii characters and pay attention to how they behave to get to know them better. Treat them to food, outfits, or gifts and, above all, support them when they have to deal with the ups and downs that come with life on the island.

To make their personalities better defined, you can give them quirks. There are all kinds: from posing impatiently to waving enthusiastically, to floating instead of walking! You can even teach them different catchphrases and common expressions that they will then blurt out in the middle of a conversation. Help them discover what they like and what they can't stand so they can live their lives to the fullest!

The more the... merrier!

Create lots of interesting residents, and by doing so, your island will gradually take shape.

At first, the Mii characters will be complete strangers... but that's where you come in! Give them a little push to break the ice: simply place them next to each other so they can chat. Once they get to know each other a bit, they will start hanging out on their own.

Their relationships can evolve in a thousand ways: you will see them form friendships, have heated disputes, confess their feelings in a totally dramatic way, or even form love triangles you didn't see coming at all.

Plus, they can become housemates! Up to 8 residents have the option to share gigantic houses where all kinds of eccentricities will take place.

An island tailored to you

Expand, design, and organize the island however you like. Change the location of houses, shops, or establishments, add new places for the residents to enjoy, and decorate the island to your heart's content thanks to the Town Hall's assortment, which includes trees or hedges. Make your island a joy to behold!

On the other hand, Mii characters might share their ideas for spicing up the place, for example, by creating new paths or planting flowers. Listen to their suggestions and the island is sure to become more lively!

Unique creations

If you want to give the island an even more personal touch, you can head over to the design workshop and create all sorts of original things! Have fun designing unique exteriors for houses, floors, custom clothing, food, and even pets for your residents! If you feel like it, try recreating your favorite dish or your own pet. There are endless possibilities!
