FIPS 197 Certified USB Drive with XTS-AES 256-bit Encryption for Data Protection
The Kingston IronKey™ Vault Privacy 50 Series features premium Type-A and Type-C®* USB drives that offer enterprise-grade security, with FIPS 197 certification and hardware-based AES 256-bit encryption in XTS mode, including protection against BadUSB with digitally signed firmware, as well as brute-force password attacks. The VP50 has been Pen Tested to verify its enterprise-grade security. Because encrypted storage is under the user's physical control, the VP50 series is more effective than using the Internet and cloud services to protect data.

Vault Privacy 50 supports multiple password options (Administrator, User, and One-Time Recovery) with Complex or Passphrase modes. This feature enhances the ability to regain access to data if one of the passwords is forgotten. The traditional complex mode supports 6-16 character passwords using 3 out of 4 character sets. The new passphrase mode supports a numeric PIN, a sentence, a list of words, or even text from 10 to 64 characters long. The Administrator can enable a User password and a One-Time Recovery password or reset the User password to restore data access. To make password entry easier, you can enable the eye icon to reveal the typed password to reduce typos that lead to failed login attempts. Brute-force protection locks out the User or One-Time Recovery passwords after 10 consecutive invalid password entries, and a cryptographic erase deletes the drive if the Administrator password is entered incorrectly 10 consecutive times.

As a protection measure against malware on untrusted systems, both the Administrator and User can set the Read-Only mode to protect the drive from being written to. Additionally, the built-in virtual keyboard protects passwords from hardware or software-based keyloggers.

Organizations can customize and configure VP50 series drives with a Product ID (PID) to integrate them into standard Endpoint Management software to meet corporate IT and cybersecurity requirements through Kingston’s Customization Program.

SMBs can use the Administrator role to manage their drives locally. For example, use the Administrator to set or reset User or One-Time Recovery passwords, regain access to data on locked drives, and comply with laws and regulations whenever a forensic investigation is required.

Vault Privacy 50 offers fast dual-channel performance across all capacities. The drive is waterproof, with an IPX8 rating****; it is TAA compliant and assembled in the USA.

Hardware-encrypted USB drive for data protection

Multi-password option for data recovery
Allows you to enable Administrator, User, and One-Time Recovery passwords. The Administrator can reset User passwords and create a One-Time Recovery password to restore user access to data. New Passphrase Mode
You can choose between Complex Password or Passphrase modes. Passphrases can be a numeric PIN, a sentence with spaces, a list of words, or even song lyrics, from 10 to 64 characters long.

Dual Read-Only (write-protection) settings
Prevent malware attacks by configuring a Read-Only mode, set by the administrator for a user, or a session-based Read-Only mode set by the administrator or the user.

Manage SMB drives locally
Use the Administrator role to locally manage User and One-Time Recovery passwords, regain access to data on locked drives, and comply with laws and regulations when forensic analysis is required.

Additional security features
Reduce frustration and failed login attempts by enabling the eye icon button to see the password you have typed. Uses a virtual keyboard to protect password input against keyloggers and screen loggers.
