The Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 External SSD is Kingston’s first innovative, OS-independent, hardware-encrypted external SSD with a touchscreen for enhanced data protection. VP80ES drives protect against Brute Force and BadUSB attacks using digitally signed firmware. Brute Force protection will crypto-erase the drive by default if the administrator and user passwords are entered incorrectly 15 times*. The drive is FIPS 197 certified with XTS-AES 256-bit encryption via a Common Criteria EAL5+ (CC EAL5+) certified secure microprocessor and is TAA compliant.

As easy to use as unlocking a smartphone and featuring drag-and-drop file transfers, the VP80ES is ideal for protecting data while remaining highly convenient to use. With an intuitive color touchscreen and multi-password option (administrator and user), using either a numeric PIN or a passphrase, [Vault Privacy 80ES] is much more efficient than relying on the Internet and cloud services to secure data.

Whether it is important corporate information, client documents, or high-resolution images and videos, the drive is ideal for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and content creators. It includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 adapter cables, USB Type-C®** to Type-A and Type-C to Type-C, to facilitate connections to computers and other devices. The VP80ES is the perfect companion if you need to protect data and content off-site and enable portable productivity and convenience in the palm of your hand. Ideal for regular data backups and providing protection against ransomware.

The administrator can enable a user password and change security options, such as adjusting password requirements by specifying the maximum number of failed attempts, a minimum password length of 6 to 64 characters, and rules for creating an alphanumeric password. Additionally, you can use the “space” character to make it easier to remember a passphrase, such as a word list, a simple quote, or lyrics to your favorite song. If preferred, you can use the PIN keypad to unlock it just like a mobile device, which also reduces login errors and the frustration of tapping the “eye” button to view a hidden password.

As an added feature, if you forget the user password, you can use the administrator password to access the data and restore user access.
