Add RS-232 serial communication support to a USB-A enabled data terminal equipment (DTE - e.g., a desktop or laptop computer) using this 1 m (3.3 ft.) straight-through USB to serial adapter cable.

Serial Port Expansion

The USB serial adapter adds an RS-232 DB/DE-9 (male) serial connector to a desktop or laptop computer through a USB Type-A port. Secure the adapter to a serial device using the pre-installed, removable slotted D-Sub thumbscrews or install the included DB-9 nuts for compatibility with other serial peripheral devices or cables.

LED Indicators

The adapter’s transmit and receive data LED indicators provide real-time monitoring of port activity. The USB LED indicates when the adapter has been successfully enumerated on the desktop or laptop. All LEDs assist in diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Hassle-Free Connectivity

The adapter is compatible with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Linux. Drivers install automatically on Windows 7 and newer, macOS 10.15 and higher, and Linux. The USB to RS-232 adapter features COM retention, which automatically reassigns the COM port value if the cable is disconnected and reconnected, or if the system is restarted.
