This serial and parallel PCIe combo card installs into an available PCI-Express x1 slot in your computer and allows you to add an IEEE 1284 DB25 parallel port and an RS-232 DB9 serial port to your system. The PEX1S1P950 is the latest version of our popular PEX1S1P952 combo card model.

Add an LPT parallel port

The controller card features an Asix AX99100 chip and allows you to connect a DB25 device to your desktop computer. The parallel port is ideal for connecting printers, scanners, plotters, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, scientific sensors, medical equipment, or oscilloscopes. The card can also be used in factories to control or automate equipment. The parallel (LPT) port supports SPP/Byte/Nibble/ECP modes, as well as PCI Power Management 1.2 and the IEEE 1284 standard for speeds up to 2.5 Mbps.

Add a COM serial port

The Asix AX99100 chip also allows you to connect a DB9 device to your system using the same controller card, with support for the industry-standard 16950 UART. The serial port is ideal for connecting POS terminals, PLC devices, factory control/automation, scientific sensors, medical equipment, scanners, and oscilloscopes. The serial (COM) port supports bidirectional RS232 speeds up to 921.6 Kbps per port, includes a 256-byte FIFO buffer, and supports 9 data bits. The card also features an optional SATA power input that allows you to provide power to pin 9 of the serial port and adjust the power output between 5V and 12V using a jumper on the printed circuit board (PCB).

Broad installation compatibility

This add-on card installs into a full-profile/standard PCIe 2.0 x1 slot (backward compatible with PCIe 1.1). For compatibility with a wider range of platforms, the card is compatible with Windows (7 or higher), Windows Server (2003 or higher), and Linux (2.4.X or higher) operating systems.
